Australian synth-pop superstar Betty Who and more also join the bill as the festival prepares to host headliners TLC for the best selling American girl group’s premier UK festival performance. VIP packages are now on sale with exclusive access to DJ sets from Fearne Cotton, Goldierocks, Gok Wan, Mel Blatt and more. The Glory announce A Man To Pet, John Sizzle’s ‘Iconic Cabaret’ plus more as the iconic East London LGBTQ venue programmes a dragtastic stage south of the river. More of the UK’s primo alternative club nights including Fleetmac Wood, Gay Garage and Girl Power join the celebrations as Brockwell Park prepares to spring forth into a triumphant day of love, pop and glitter-coated acceptance. Super early bird and early bird tickets have now sold out, with standard tickets now available at £40 and VIP packages from £60 . For more information, visit mightyhoopla.com
5ive will perform an action packed set with original band members Sean, Scott and Richie belting out an array of the boyband’s biggest hits. Nostalgia-pop fanatics can expect to get down to fan favourites ‘Keep on Movin’ and pop power anthem ‘Everybody Get Up’, complete with fist pumping pop bad boy dance routines. Westlife’s Brian McFadden and Boyzone’s Keith Duffy will join forces at Mighty Hoopla as Boyzlife for a boyband hybrid wielding more 90s power than the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles drenched in Sunny D. British Garage duo DJ Luck & MC Neat are also confirmed for a high octane House and Garage set guaranteed to have festival-goers partying well through the night (with a little bit of luck).
Mighty Hoopla also adds VIP packages from £60 with exclusive access to sets from DJ, broadcaster and Britain’s sweetheart Fearne Cotton as well as from All Saints megababe Mel Blatt plus international DJ Goldierocks. Deep house infusions in the VIP area will come from fashion guru Gok Wan with further sets confirmed from Pandora, Jack Saunders and CBB’s Ashley James and Charlotte de Carle’s Bitterwseet DJs duo act.
The Glory announce a fully programmed stage packed with performances from the best of the East London gay super-pub’s family of talent. Acts include the UK’s most loved Grecian drag goddess A Man To Pet; Rudi Doulas, a piano and friends singing from the Big Gay Songbook; John Sizzle’s ‘Iconic Cabaret’ as well as hotly contended and sickeningly fierce lip-sync battles in the shape of Lipsync 1000 Allstarz. Further acts and appearances come from the lauded venue’s very own landlord Jonny Woo, a re-enactment of the award-winning 1972 TV special Liza With A Z, and the cream of the crop from the sensational drag king battle with The Best of Man UP!
Further newly confirmed acts for Mighty Hoopla include Australian-born singer-songwriter, Betty Who, promising to delight crowds with synth-heavy feel-good pop, whilst an appearance from the UK’s own emerging pop starboy Andro, adds to the already illustrious bill of contemporary chart toppers including Lily Allen, MNEK, Louisa Johnson and Nimmo. Meanwhile, Melanie C, Louise, Vengaboys, Belinda Carlisle and B*Witched complete the royal flush of pop icons announced to date.
Heading up the celebration of alternative club culture are Sink The Pink and Guilty Pleasures, with their Mighty Hoopla friends and family in tow including The Grand, Glitterbox, Bongo’s Bingo and more. Newly added club nights include Gay Garage for an ultimate homo celebration of the best loved UK nineties genre; tracks from the queens of R’n’B, Pop, and Hip-Hop from 90’s babes to present day divas courtesy of Girl Power; T-Rex filled and all time classic film inspired Jurassic Party; not to mention remix project Fleetmac Wood for a celebratory rave that reframes the music of the seminal rock band.
This year’s Hoopla follows the massive success of 2017’s inaugural London edition, which welcomed 15000 revellers and huge names including Years & Years, All Saints, Charlotte Church’s Late Night Pop Dungeon, Will Young, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Fleur East, Alma and many more. Returning for 2018 in a brand new Brockwell Park location, Mighty Hoopla promises to be the ultimate celebration of all things pop and enjoyment.
Subject to license and planning Mighty Hoopla will take place in Brockwell Park on 3rd June 2018. Tickets are on sale now at: www.mightyhoopla.com
